Description
Seeking at motivated individual with a passion for helping others. This position will be 1-2 mornings per week, 9:00-10:45am, teaching active older adults during SilverSneakers classes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise exercise class or sport activity
- Promotes YMCA mission
- Attends orientation to YMCA mission and program philosophy
- Maintain equipment and inventory
- Fill out accident reports and turn them into the Program Director
- Insure safety and care of the participant
- Act as a liaison between the Program Director and participants
- Be prompt and on time for classes
- Sign in and out or punch in and out
- Set up equipment or facility, and store and secure facility upon completion of activity
- Report problems with participants or equipment to the Program Director
- Develop a positive program philosophy
- Other duties assigned by the Program Director
Qualifications
- SilverSneakers Instructor certification is required. Training is available.
- Experience in a leadership/teaching role.
- Friendly, outgoing person with a positive attitude.
- Must obtain clearances and CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
