The Arts Center
35 South 5th St Sunbury, PA 17801
The YMCA’s core values: Mind, Body, and Spirit are woven throughout our programming. Art is more than the ability to draw. We all are creative, and we find our balance and center through the process of making something that wasn’t there before. Make your bed, make your breakfast, and then make a painting or a piece of pottery. Discover the creator inside of you. Make art your center.

Arts Center - Impacting the Lives of Older Adults
“Within the past three weeks, I have had two seniors tell me that they needed community and have found it at the Arts Center. One is a knitting student, who said how much she appreciated the classes and that she had been looking for something to help her right now, she has been feeling isolated. The second person recently moved to a senior life facility in Lewisburg from Williamsport and she wanted to seek out people who shared her interests. She joined our Watercolor Club to paint with and interact with other adults who enjoy painting. I can overhear the painters encouraging each other and sharing their ideas and conversation.”

Sticks & Strings Knitting and Crochet Class
“In 2021, I became a grandmother for the first time. I wanted to make my grandson all the adorable crocheted animals and toys I saw in patterns and at craft fairs. I was trying to teach myself, but I really needed some instruction and guidance. I found just the help I was looking for from Emily Anmuth, the instructor at the Art Center’s Sticks & Strings Knitting and Crochet Class! Before long I was making all kinds of charaters! Better than that, I found a circle of friends to learn and laugh with. My grandson and I are very thankful for the Arts Center.” Susan McCullough
