We’re looking for a passionate and organized Aquatics Coordinator to help lead our Sunbury Y aquatics programs. If you love working with children, thrive in a team-centered environment, and want to make a real difference, this is the role for you!
Responsibilities
- Promotes the YMCA Mission Statement
- Guarding as scheduled by the Aquatics director
- Schedule swimming lessons and staff, in coordination with the Aquatics Director
- Schedule and teach private lessons
- Work with the Aquatics director to plan and implement safe swim
- Obtain a childcare file to guard for children and youth program
- Teach Aquatics classes as scheduled
- Substitute as needed for Aquatics instructors
- Take care of pool water level, vacuuming, keeping the pool deck clean and organized and test and record daily chemical checks
- Maintain swim test book
- Wash and dry towels used for programing
- Reports problems to the Aquatics director or executive director
- Opportunity to help with swim team
Qualifications
- A heart for helping others and a team-first attitude
- Current Lifeguard, CPR/PR, AED, and First Aid certifications
- A high school diploma (college degree preferred)
- Ability to stay calm, focused, and in control during emergencies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Required clearances: Act 33, Act 34, FBI, NSOR, Mandated Reporter, physical, and TB test
