The Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease Program is a FREE exercise program for ages 60 and up that can reduce pain and improve overall health. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk With Ease.
The Walk with Ease program may help you:
- Motivate yourself to get in great shape
- Walk safely and comfortably
- Improve your flexibility, strength and stamina
- Reduce pain and feel great
This 6 week program begins August 18 and runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Lewisburg YMCA.

A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance. A Matter of Balance can help people improve their quality of life and remain independent.
The next session of A Matter of Balance will be offered July 21 – August 13, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM every Monday and Wednesday at the Lewisburg YMCA.

Improve movement, balance, strength, and flexibility, while decreasing pain and risk of falls with Tai Chi for Arthritis.
Tai Chi for Arthritis is open to adults ages 60+ with or without arthritis, rheumatic diseases or related musculoskeletal conditions. Appropriate for people with mild, moderate and severe joint involvement and back pain.
Tai Chi is an ancient art that has a lot more layers of technical and conceptual depth than meets the eye. Dr. Paul Lam’s approach taught by his board certified instructors aid in learning this intricate art. making it easy to learn, heart felt, and follows the tai chi principals that neither the teaching nor the principals should be rushed but rather should flow smoothly with positivity and in small steps.
Classes will be taught at the Lewisburg YMCA by Michael LaBant, a 30 year practitioner. LaBant is a high-level certified instructor with the National Qigong Association, a Master Trainer with the American Tai & Qigong Association and a practice leader with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi.
The next Tai Chi for Arthritis session will be every Tuesday from 12:15 – 1:15 pm starting May 6 and running through June 24, 2025. This class is open pen to those 60+ and is free.
The Lewisburg YMCA is currently offering a selection of programs in conjunction with Union Snyder Agency on Aging, Inc., including A Matter of Balance, Walk With Ease, and Tai Chi for Arthritis.
