Lewisburg YMCA
The Lewisburg YMCA is home to the GSV YMCA Volleyball Club which features U14 – U18 girls teams each winter. In addition the Lewisburg YMCA offers a variety of volleyball events throughout the year. Opportunities include development clinics, private lessons, adult tournaments, and pickup nights for all skill levels.
Interested in hosting a league or tournament? Lewisburg YNMCA is fantastic for volleyball with 4 hardcourts, high ceilings, and spacious viewing areas for spectators.
Summer Leagues
Join us for our 4-week High School Indoor 6’s Volleyball League from June 6th- June 27th! This league is the perfect way to kick off the summer. Teams should sign up no later than May 22. Email team name, roster (minimum 6 players) and division to [email protected] and [email protected].
LEAGUE DETAILS
Format:
- 6v6
- “Call your own” (no official referees)
- Guaranteed 2 sets per match with additional sets if time allows
Cost:
- $220 per team
- Due by first day of league
If needed, waiver can be found here.
Divisions:
– Girls JV (1-2 years of organized experience)
– Girls Varsity (2-3+ years of competitive experience)
– Boys (Ages 15-18)
*Girls divisions may be combined for scheduling purposes.
Game Times:
– 4:45-5:30 PM
– 5:45-6:30 PM
– 6:45-7:30 PM
– 7:45-8:30 PM (as needed)
*Game schedule will be released 2-1.5 weeks prior to start*

Open Volleyball
The Lewisburg YMCA is dedicated to providing access to open gym and court hours during non-peak times for member convenience. A YMCA membership is required to utilize these facilities. Please note that open gym and court hours are subject to change without prior notice. Volleyball open gym sessions are highlighted in blue on the schedule and require a drop-in fee.
Clinics
Summer Middle School Volleyball Skills and Drills
Middle school volleyball skill training sessions will focus on foundational skills like passing, setting, serving, hitting, and defense for middle school aged girls and boys. Players should come prepared with sneakers, knee pads (preferred not required) and a water bottle. Both opportunities will be led by YMCA Lewisburg Volleyball Director Stephanie Burkholder and are independent of one another. Attend one or both!

Junior Open Gym
Junior open gym sessions are available during the volleyball season, providing opportunities for informal practice, skill development, or pick-up games. Specific times will be communicated directly to athletes by their coach.

Meet the Coaches
Coach Amanda Greer
Amanda Geer is a health and physical education teacher at Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School in Lewisburg. She has been involved with volleyball for more than 20 years. She currently holds the role as Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for Lewisburg Girl’s Volleyball and was one of the GSVY club volleyball coaches last year. Amanda has been assisting with clinics and camps for several years at the the Lewisburg Y, and has been holding volleyball clubs while teaching at the middle school in hopes to build the sport for girls in the area. As a teacher, Amanda has 15 years teaching experience and was awarded SHAPE PA’s Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2020 and SHAPE America’s Eastern District Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2022. She loves being outdoors and spending time her husband Adam and two daughters Daisy and Emberly.
Coach Steve Hoover
Steve has been part of the Lewisburg community for over 20 years and has always had a desire to bring competitive volleyball to the area. He started playing volleyball at a young age and continues to bring high energy and enthusiasm to the sport. He was one of the original coaches for the GSVY club team that formed in 2022. His passion and love for the game brings out the best in our players.
Coach Steph Burkholder
Coach Steph is Volleyball Director for Lewisburg YMCA. She has 12+ years of coaching and program experience ranging from developmental to premier level high school and club teams. In addition, she is currently assisting with the newly formed Lewisburg HS girls program with Coach Geer. Coach Steph is known for promoting proper technique, helping players develop a strong mental game, and infusing her passion for the game into her coaching. Still an avid player in the volleyball community, Coach Steph participates in leagues and tournaments when her schedule allows. She played her college career at Lebanon Valley College and is a Lower Dauphin alum.
Coach Jeremy Chow
Jeremy Chow has been coaching youth volleyball since 2012. His expertise is in defense. He currently works at Bucknell University.
